The steering system for a truck having two steerable wheels turning at different angles on the inside and outside of a bend comprises a set of helical gears with at least one able to turn about an axis (2). At least one of the gears (4) is in the shape of a cylindrical body with helical teeth, able to turn about the axis (2) and move along the axis under the control of the steering wheel, guided by a cylindrical gear with straight teeth (3) which can turn about the axis (2). Each of the steerable wheels is connected to a helical gear (5, 6) meshing with the cylindrical gear (4).
