Film laminates as high barrier films and their use in vacuum insulation panels

The laminate structure has an outer layer(I) with an evaporated coating of aluminium, silicon oxide or metal oxide of the second or third main group facing an adjacent second layer(II). The second layer forms a gas barrier layer and adjoins a third layer(III) similar to the first. A fourth layer(IV) comprises an outer heat sealing layer. Independent claims are made for: a) a vacuum insulation panel with a hermetically sealed cover based on the claimed film laminate whose first layer(I) faces outwards; b) a use of a multilayer film laminate as a gas diffusion-resistant cover for the vacuum insulation panel. Preferred Features: The laminate layers are all plastic based.
