PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a rationally structured support material which can be used properly for a simple cover lid which is temporarily installed when an existing cover lid is repaired. SOLUTION: In a support material 1 for a simple cover lid for supporting a cover member Q, which is constructed over the lid receiving section P provided in the opening E of a water tank or a water passage to covers the opening E, the support material 1 has locking sections 11 which are supported abutting on opening side edges at positions opposing to each other or the receiving member W provided along the opening side edges, and locking sections 11 are connected to each other through a connection section 10.
