PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shearing machine capable of automatically changing the rake angle and the stroke amount to the optimum state according to a workpiece. SOLUTION: In this shearing machine 1 for shearing the workpiece W in cooperation of an upper blade 13 provided on the lower end of a vertically movable ram 11 and a lower blade 9 provided on the lower end of a workpiece table 7, ram elevating means 21L and 21R are provided for supporting the vicinities of right and left ends of the ram 11 and vertically moving the ram 11, a rake angle determining part 35 is provided for determining the angle of the upper blade according to the board thickness and material quality of the workpiece, and a driving control part 47 is provided for computing the stroke amount of the ram individually for the right and left sides according to the determined rake angle and the cutting length, and individually controlling the respective right and left ram elevating means according to the computing result.
