PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the pressure of an injection molding machine which can detect molding pressure values of dwelling, mold clamping force, etc., by a common strain sensor even when molding conditions such as pressure holing and mold clamping force, the kind of an injection molding machine, etc. SOLUTION: Pressure values such as a back pressure value in measuring with a screw (6) which is installed drivably in the rotational direction and axial direction in a cylinder barrel (2) driven in the rotational direction, an injection pressure value in injection with the screw (6) driven in the axial direction, and a pressure holding value in pressure holding are detected by the strain sensor (20) embedded in a tie bar (15a) which transmits molding pressure such as back pressure and pressure holding to the screw (6).
