PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the degradation of picture quality called as an animation false image in the case of performing display of multilevel video signals by using plural subfields. SOLUTION: Subfields are arranged so as to become like SF1-1, SF2-1, SF3-1, SF4-1 in a direction from the lead part to the central part of a frame and like SF1-2, SF2-2, SF3-2, SF4-2 in a direction from the tail to the central part of the frame by bisecting respective subfields from SF1 whose luminance ratio is the largest to SF4 and, also, by alternately arranging them at the lead side and the tail side of the frame in decreasing order of the luminance ratios of the divided subfields. Moreover, non-divided subfields are arranged in order of SF6, SF5, SF7 and SF8 in the central part of the frame. |
