<p>PURPOSE: Provided is a method of chemically decomposing scraps generated in moulding or fabricating articles of polyurethane resins and wastes of such articles for industrially advantageous recovery of polyamine compound and polyol compound useful as the raw materials of the polyurethane resins. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) thermally decomposing a polyurethane into a liquid containing a polyol and a urea compound which is soluble in the polyol, and solids containing a urea compound which is insoluble in the liquid in the presence of a polyamine compound at a temperature of 120-250 deg.C, (ii) removing the solids, (iii) hydrolyzing the residue with water retained at a high temperature of 200-320 deg.C and a high pressure, and (iv) recovering the resulting polyamine and/or polyol.</p> |
