METHOD AND DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY CORRECTING MEASUREMENT ERROR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically correcting a heat-induced measurement error and to provide a machine tool capable of implementing this method. SOLUTION: The heat-induced measurement error is corrected on the machine tool 10 provided with a probe 50 for measuring a work 26 and temperature sensors 42 and 44 for measuring the temperature of the work 26 and the machine tool 10. The correction is first made by binding the measured size of the work 26 with the probe 50. The processor 46 of the machine tool obtains the thermal expansion of the machine tool 10 and the work 26 by using the measured temperature then fiuds the actual size at the normal temperature of the work 26 based on the measured size, the thermal expansion of the machine tool, and the thermal expansion of the work.
