PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter and a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying colors with brightness equal to a CRT(cathode ray tube) television. SOLUTION: The color filter is characterized by containing blue pixels that a chromaticity coordinate (x, y), in the XYZ color system chromaticity diagram measured by using the illuminant C, satisfies respective inequalities 0.13<=x<=0.15 and 0.08<=y<=0.12 and/or red pixels satisfying respective inequalities 0.635<=x<=0.665, 0.31<=y<=0.35. The liquid crystal display device is characterized by combining the color filter and a backlight that a chromaticity coordinate (x, y) satisfies respective inequalities 0.265<=x<=0.29 and 0.24<=y<=0.30. |
