PURPOSE: Provided is a food composition containing extract of Hericium Erinaceum having abundant NGF(nerve growth factor), which is effective for maintaining and promoting physical health of the old people. CONSTITUTION: The composition is prepared by the steps of: (i) collecting fruit body of Hericium Erinaceum and pulverizing the collected mushroom into fine powder; (ii) adding 300mg of refined fish oil, 10mg of interferon, 10mg of Octacosanol, 20mg of tocopherol and 30mg of garlic extract to 400mg of the mushroom extract; (iii) homogenizing the mixture and adding 0.1-10% of propolis and 0.01-1% of maltose to the homogenized mixture; (iv) packing the resulting extract in a soft capsule made of glycerine and gelatine.
