PURPOSE: To obtain a new fiber accumulated body having both cellular void parts in an interlaced structure of fibers and to provide a method for producing the fiber accumulated body. CONSTITUTION: This self-supporting fiber accumulated body is characterized in that a fiber accumulated body comprising 10-100 wt.% of a wet-heat bonding fiber has a great number of independent or partially connected cellular void parts in the fiber accumulated body. At least parts of the fibers on the inner wall face of the cellular void parts and the fibers constituting the fiber accumulated body are heat bonded by the wet-heat bonding fiber.
