PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cleaning composition having excellent foaming in hair washing, excellent combing with the fingers in rinsing and rapid rinsing. SOLUTION: This hair cleaning composition is characterized in that the composition comprises (A) an anionic surfactant of the general formula, R1SO3M1 [R1 is a 8-22C alkyl group, alkenyl group or hydroxyalkyl group; the alkenyl group includes anα-olefin type, a vinylidene type and an inner olefin type alkenyl group; M1 is a hydrogen atom or a cation derived from a base used in neutralization of sulfonic acid; the cation includes an alkali metal ion, an alkaline earth metal ion or a cation formed by an amine such as an alkyl-substituted ammonium ion, a hydroxyalkyl-substituted ammonium ion or the like or a basic amino acid], (B) a polymer compound containing a unit of formula [1] R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R2 is a 1-4C- containing alkylene group; Y is O or NH; R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C-containing alkyl group} and (C) an anionic surfactant except the component (A).
