PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow to display various sorts of messages in optional words, in an automatic stopping time, in an abnormal time, in an inspection time before work, and the like, in a boom type working machine equipped with an overload preventive means. SOLUTION: This display device of boom type working machine is equipped with an overload detecting means to detect the overload condition of a boom; the overload preventive means to stop automatically the operation of the boom to the dangerous side when the overload condition of the boom is detected by the overload detecting means; and a letter display means to display in letters the information relating to the operation of the overload preventive means. In such a display means, the letter display means has a language mode selecting means, and the information relating to the operation of the overload preventive means is to be displayed by the letters of the language mode selected by the above language mode selecting means.
