摘要 |
A grating type optical component for compensating for a temperature dependency of EDFA at wavelengths of 1530 nm to 1535 nm and realizing wavelength multiplexing at wavelengths of 1530 nm to 1610 nm. A long frequency grating having a grating frequency change of about 300 to 500 ñm is formed on an optical fiber, and a light transmission loss characteristics having a light transmission loss peak of about 1500 to 1525 mu m, caused by a propagation mode and a high-order clad mode via the optical fiber's long frequency grating, are provided to the optical fiber. A temperature dependency shift amount of a light transmission loss peak wavelength is set to about 0.02/ DEG C to 0.05/ DEG C, with a light transmission loss (characteristic line a) at a wavelength of 1530 nm and 65 DEG C set about 0.4 to 0.6 dB larger than that (characteristic line b) at 25 DEG C due to that shift, whereby a gain temperature dependency in a device combining EDFA with an etalon filter is compensated for to up to +/-0.2 dB.
