PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a bristle of a brush seal from damage at the time of installation for the component of a gas turbine sub-assembly. SOLUTION: A turbine brush seal protecting device 58 includes an annular base plate 60 having an outer peripheral part 62 and for demarcating a groove part 66 opened in the outer peripheral part 62. The groove 66 stores a part of an annular brush seal of a gas turbine assembly so that the plate 60 can at least partially cover the brush seal at the time of installing a gas turbine. The plate 60 is detachably fitted to the stationary part 68 of a gas turbine assembly.
