PURPOSE: A device for detecting the lock of a finger in a terminal is provided to configure a finger searcher and an automatic sluing unit, so as to automatically track the sluing of a position caused by time delay, and move to a position having a highest signal strength. CONSTITUTION: A searcher(10) extracts an energy value of a signal having a highest signal strength and a timing position signal. A controller(20) processes an energy signal and a position signal received from the searcher(10). In a finger unit(40), a sluing unit(32) receives the position signal, to tune a timing position of a terminal receiver with a timing position of a corresponding frequency. A finger searcher(42) re-searches a position signal having a highest signal strength within a predetermined range, on the basis of the position signal received to the sluing unit(32). An automatic sluing unit(44) tunes a timing position of the terminal receiver with the position searched in the finger searcher(42). A lock detection unit(34) compares a signal by the position selected by the automatic sluing unit(44) with a signal directly supplied from the receiver through correlation, and selects and maintains the position to which the automatic sluing unit(440 is moved if a compared result is over a predetermined threshold. And the lock detection unit(34) measures an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator). A synchronization maintaining/demodulating unit(36) performs tracking to maintain the synchronization between the position signal maintained by the lock detection unit(34) and a signal of a pilot channel transmitted in a base site, and demodulates data from signals received under a state in which the synchronization is maintained.
