PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a label having old information printed thereon if it remains from erroneously being stuck to a novel different article at starting sticking of labels. SOLUTION: The label sticking apparatus includes a transfer path on which an article to which a label 10 is to stuck is carried, printers 14, 15, 16 for printing on the label 10 which is fed while being temporarily fixed to a strip mount 12 and also peeling the printed label 10 from the mount 12 for feeding, and label feeders 17, 18, 19, 20 for receiving the peeled label 10, also temporarily storing it, and also making the label 10 project onto the transfer path with a sticking signal received for sticking it to the article. The apparatus is designed to forcibly discharge the label 10 if it remains on the label feeders 17, 18, 19, 20 at starting up the apparatus.
