PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system which can easily and quickly make the fault of a controlled device to be diagnosed. SOLUTION: An information processing system is constituted by connecting a controller 10 to a plurality of devices 20 and 30 to be controlled through a cable 40. The cable 40 has an ordinary path 41 and loop-like diagnosing paths 42-44, and the devices 20 and 30 can diagnose each other via the paths 42 and 44. The cable 40 has terminal connectors 53 and 54 containing terminal circuits 14, 15, 24, 25, 34, 35, 55, and 56 at both ends.
