PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially reduce or eliminate an upper pressing force acting on a lower die so as to realize thinning of the lower die by adding an upward external force to the bottom face of the lower die at the hemming processing time in a hemming device of such a type that a processing unit for performing the hemming processing by pressurizing a work being arranged and held on the lower die is installed at a peripheral part of the lower die. SOLUTION: By this hemming device, hemming processing is performed to the outer periphery of a work W by a processing unit 10 installed to the peripheral part of a lower die 2, under a condition that the work W being put on the lower die 2 is pressed from above by a work presser 5. When a toggle mechanism 31 and a parallel link mechanism 12 are actuated by a hemming cylinder 41 and the work W is pressurized from above by a hem blade 20 so as to perform hemming processing, the lower die 2 is pressurized from below by a chucking arm 21 actuated via the toggle mechanism 31.
