Method of building up height of land in polder, uses off-shore sand-sucker vessel to pipe sand and silt from seabed into pans on shore

The system carries sand and silt from the seabed and deposits it in pans on shore. A conventional sand-sucker vessel (12) sucks up a slurry of sand, silt and water from the seabed and pumps it via a flexible floating pipe (14) to the shore. On shore in the pan the slurry is distributed by a system of parallel pipes (16). At the discharge ends of the pipes are sections (18) which hinge horizontally to produce an even distribution.
