PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a cathode ray tube capable of thinning a neck so as to reduce deflection power. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of a cathode ray tube seals an electron gun in a neck by heat-welding the neck 3 and an outer peripheral part of a flare part 21 of a stem 20. A radial thickness of the outer peripheral part of the flare part is smaller than a radial thickness of a part for forming a filet 25 for surrounding a stem pin 23 in the flare part.
