PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotating electric machine which protects bearing from dust. SOLUTION: A stator 1 and a rotator 2 are accommodated in a case 3. In a through-hole 12 opened in one end plate part 10a in the axial direction of the case 3, the tip of a rotating shaft 7 rotatably retaining the rotor 2 is retained rotatably by a bearing 13. Draft holes 17a, 17b passing cooling air 14 are installed in the end plate part 10a of the case 3 and in the part positioned on an opposite side in the axial direction with respect to the end plate part 10a. An aperture end 18a side of an end cover 18 is made to abut against the outside of the end plate part 10a of the case 3, and the end cover 18 is fixed. A large number of small holes 20 for passing the cooling air 14 are installed in the end cover 18. An isolating annular plate 26 for isolating the bearing the bearing 13 from the cooling air 14 is arranged in a space 25 between the end cover 18 and the end plate part 10a of the case 3.
