PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication apparatus capable of surely linking sites and further surely communicating data in spite of a line distance between sites or the like. SOLUTION: A controller stores information on whether data communication is made successful or not, a season in which communication is performed, a day of the week on which communication is performed, communication time and data communication speed in a data memory for each site. When performing data communication, the controller reads the data communication speed with which data communication has been made successful, out of the data memory corresponding to the site, and instructs a MODEM to perform communication at that data communication speed. Then, communication is performed at this instructed data communication speed.
