PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system by which a variety of devices having a display function can always have stable and correct display by having a function to select a display device in response to a characteristic of displayed contents in the display system where a plurality of devices having a display function are interconnected by a network such as an IEEE 1394 bus. SOLUTION: A digital television receiver(DTV) 12 displays program information (contents), and also displays program guide information in parallel with the display of the contents. When a personal computer(PC) 13 selects a program name on a program guide information, the selected contents reflect on the program display of the digital television receiver(DTV) 12. When the power of the personal computer(PC) 13 is interrupted, the power is automatically supplied to boot the personal computer(PC) 13, which acquires the program guide information and displays it.
