A dispensing structure (20) is provided for a container (22) that has an opening to the container interior. The dispensing structure (20) includes a body (30) or base for extending around the container opening and for defining a dispensing orifice (41). A lid (36) is molded from at least one synthetic polymer material and is hingedly connected to the body for movement between (1) a closed position over the body dispensing orifice (41), and (2) an open position spaced from the closed position. The lid (36) includes an occlusion member (60) for occluding the dispensing orifice (41) when the lid (36) is in the closed position. The lid (36) includes a finger well (76) to facilitate opening the lid (36). The finger well (76) is formed by deflection or deformation of a portion of the lid (36) from an as-molded convex condition to a concave condition relative to the exterior of the lid (36).
