PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence rate of overflow even in a case of such as volume scanning that unavoidably requires the enormous number of channels and moreover, enable the collection of data without reducing the number of channels. SOLUTION: In an X-ray computed tomograph wherein a preamplifier 391 and an A/D converter 398 are arranged at one channel each or at a plurality of channels each of X-ray detectors facing each other sandwiching a subject with respect to an X-ray tube to reconstruct a tomographic image based on an output data of the A/D converter 398 repeatedly collected while at least one of the X-ray tube and the X-ray detectors are rotating around the subject, the gain of the preamplifier 391 is regulated by a data monitoring/gain control circuit 399 based on output data of the A/D converter 398 repeatedly collected at the preceding rotation cycle.
