PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite machine where accounting information is not lost even if the storage of accounting information in a charging device is failed and to provide an accounting information managing method. SOLUTION: A facsimile machine 100 is provided with CPU 11, an encoder/ decoder 2, a SAF memory 3, a communication control part 4, a display part 5, a communication rate calculation part 6 provided with a rate table data 7, a communication history storage part 8, a reading part 9, a writing part 10, an accounting management device I/F 11 being an interface for connecting it with the accounting management device 12 installed outside. The accounting management device 12 is connected to the machine through the accounting management device I/F 11. When a fault occurs in the accounting management device 12, the accounting information is stored in the communication history storage part 8. When a system is restored from the fault, the accounting information stored in the communication history storage part 8 is stored again and storage is discarded in the communication history storage part 8. Even if the fault occurs in the accounting management device, the accounting information is prevented from being lost.
