PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and less expensive means for linking a drying kiln to a carbonization kiln whose atmospheres are intercepted from each other in a rotary kiln-type carbonization apparatus. SOLUTION: Extending from the secondary combustion chamber 5 of a carbonization oven 2, a chamber 7 is placed through a duct 6. A drying kiln 1 having a heat-served outside wall is placed in such a manner that plural waste gas inlets 9 come to near the center line of the drying kiln 1 in the chamber 7. The rear end part of the drying kiln passing the tire 14 is inserted into an atmosphere intercept box 3. A carbonization kiln 4 is placed in such a manner that it is on a straight line with the drying kiln 1 via the atmosphere intercept box 3, and it comes into a carbonization oven 2.
