PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate free movement of a user while eliminating low strength part from a reinforced part by dividing the front face of a vest vertically into two, providing an overlapped part between upper and lower members making the lower member slidable relative to the upper member in the overlapped part. SOLUTION: An upper member 3 for principally protecting the breast of human body is made by applying a nonwoven fabric of aramid fibers to the rear surface of a prepreg laminate of aramid fibers, for example. A lower member 4 for principally protecting the abdomen of human body is made by applying a nonwoven fabric of aramid fibers entirely to the rear surface of a prepreg laminate of aramid fibers, for example. It is divided into two in order to make smooth the movement of breast and abdomen. The upper and lower members 3, 4 thus divided are coupled slidably with a flexible coupling material so that movement of the lower member 4 can be set with a desired width. The coupling material is secured to the upper and lower members 3, 4 by means of adhesion or a metal rivet.
