PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount container that is sealed by glass where shock-resistance with respect to a removed cover is considerably enhanced and an outer size is maintained constant without losing performance of miniaturization and to provide a surface mounted vibrator using it. SOLUTION: In the surface mount package where a sidewall upper face of a recessed base 10 and a cover 11 are sealed by using low melting point glass, the size of the cover 11 is made smaller than a plane outer shape of the recessed base 10, a step 19 is formed to its outer circumference to form a projected area in the middle and powder of the low melting point glass is coated to the outer circumference to seal the opening of the recessed base 10. In his case, a crystal chip 3 is adhered to a couple of mount electrode terminals 6a, 6b formed on an inner bottom face of the recessed base 10 that is mounted on a printed circuit board and whose inner bottom face is flat by using a conductive adhesive.
