PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating melody at on/off time of a TV is provided to effectively cope with unpleasant feeling of a user due to abnormal sound generated from a CRT(12). CONSTITUTION: In a conventional TV system, when a power is turned on, an abnormal sound with a cracking is generated due to the generation of static electricity on a CRT(12) surface, or when the power is turned off, an abnormal sound with a hiss is generated as a high pressure escapes from the CRT(12). These abnormal sounds don't have a high level in a small-sized TV, so a viewer may not recognize them. However, the sound level is high in a large-sized TV, so there is a problem that the viewer feels unpleasant. In the present invention, melody is generated for a predetermined time upon TV power on/off operation in order to reduce unpleasant feeling of the viewer due to the abnormal sounds generated upon the TV power on/off operation. |
