PURPOSE: A method for managing used records of an operation and maintenance device in a switching system is provided to configure directories relating to message records transceived between the operation and maintenance device and an exchange according to months, and to configure files in accordance with dates to store the files. CONSTITUTION: A switching system configures directories relating to message records transceived between an operation and maintenance device(110) and an exchange(100), according to months. The switching system generates record files of the transceived messages according to dates. The switching system stores the record files for a regular time, and totalizes using frequencies according to each menu within a designated period. The switching system analyzes using times, title lists, and the transceived messages according to each menu, and outputs the analyzed using times, the title lists, and the transceived messages.
