The core is made of insulated wires compacted to minimize induced currents in core. The magnetic circuit for an electrical transformer includes a part made with a bundle (1) of enameled iron wires. These are formed into a twisted cable with the individual wires compacted together. The wires are cut to the required length to form the magnetic core of the transformer, and both the primary and the secondary windings are then formed around this core. The individual cores are compacted by pressing the wires into a convex channel, with a shaped plunger having a convex head bearing down on the wires. The wires thus become compacted together. |
