<p>PURPOSE: A quality monitor device and a method are provided to have a simple embodiment, and to remove the defect of a usual jumping window typed monitor. CONSTITUTION: The quality checking device to check the quality of an ATM cell remembered in a buffer comprises: window regulative circuits(700, 701, 702, 703) to increase a coefficient value as the established value by replying each cell abolished from the buffer, and to reduce the coefficient value as one to regulate a time window of variable size by replying each cell transmitted from the buffer; a cell loss counter(704) to increase the coefficient value by replying each cell abolished from the buffer inside the time window; a judging circuit(705) to generate a low quality signal when the count value of the cell loss counter is larger than a critical value.</p> |
