<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recycling method and a system therefor intended to recover high-quality reclaimed polystyrene through effectively removing discolored contaminants in a high-viscosity solution made by dissolving a polystyrene waste material in an organic solvent, and to obtain a decoloring agent for polystyrene resin. SOLUTION: This recycling method comprises the following processes: a polystyrene waste material 1 is dissolved in an organic solvent 2 to make a solution 3; a silica-alumina adsorbent 5 is added to the solution 3, or the solution 3 is passed through a column packed with a silica-alumina adsorbent 5, to effect adsorption of discolored contaminants in the solution 3 to decolor the solution; following the decoloring process, the silica-alumina adsorbent is removed; thereafter the organic solvent 2 is removed by heating the resultant solution 3 under a vacuum. Thereby the polystyrene waste material 1 is recovered as reclaimed polystyrene pellets 15.</p> |
