PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make machining speed high and to improve machining accuracy by removing machined chips from an electric discharge part without causing the oscillation and breaking of a fine electrode. SOLUTION: In this electric discharge machining method, a fine electrode 14 and a conductive workpiece 32 are opposed in an insulating machining solution 31, and electric discharge is generated between the fine electrode 14 and the workpiece 32 to fusion-eliminate a part of the workpiece 32. In this case, micro bubbles 15a, 15a,... are generated at an electric discharge part and its periphery in the machining solution 31 to remove machined chips generated by fusion-elimination of the workpiece 32, from the electric discharge part.
