SOLUTION: The semiconductor relay comprises an element 1 emitting light depending on an input signal, an element 2 generating photovoltaic power by receiving light from the light emitting element 1, an IGBT 3 in which a transition is made from first impedance state to second impedance state between the drain and source by providing a PN junction 20c in a drain region and applying photovoltaic power generated from the light receiving element 2 between the gate and source, a circuit 4 for controlling charge/discharge between the gate and source of the IGBT 3, and a photovoltaic power generating means 5 for applying a forward bias voltage to the PN junction 20c of the IGBT 3. |
