A pair of sub-enclosures (68), each having a platen subunit (72) and an intermediate section subuint (74) having an exposure opening overlying and closely adjoining the platen subunit. The sub-enclosures are fitted together with the subunits in contact. The platen subunits form a platen (66) for the photographic film and the sub-enclosures define a film path between the platen and the intermediate section subunits.
