Concrete comprises organic fibers dispersed in a hardened cement matrix. Concrete comprising organic fibers dispersed in a hardened cement matrix is obtained by mixing with water composition comprising fibers and: (a) cement; (b) granular components with maximum size, D, of no more than 2 mm, preferably no more than 1 mm; (c) fine components from ash with size no greater than 20 microns preferably no greater than 1 microns ; and (d) at least one dispersing agent; said composition meeting the following conditions: (e) wt. % water with respect to total weight of (a) and (c) = 8-25; (f) organic fibers have individual length, l , of at least 2 mm and ratio l// phi ( phi = diameter) at least = 20; (g) ratio, R, of mean length of fibers to D at least = 5; and (h) quantity of fibers is such that their volume represents no more than 8% total volume of concrete. An Independent claim is also included for pre-mixture for preparing cement matrix for making said concrete. |
