PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new polypeptide for treatment and diagnosis, etc., of cancer, obesity, inflammatory disorders, heart disorders, nervous disorders, immune disorders, etc., containing an amino acid sequence having high identity to an amino acid sequence over total length of a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This isolated new SBHWSB2 polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 97% identity to amino acid sequence over total length of the formula and the SBHWSB2 polypeptide and polynucleotide are useful for treatment, diagnosis, assay, etc., of functional disorder or diseases including cancers, obesity, inflammatory disorders, heart diseases, Crohn's diseases, nervous disorders and immune disorders. The polypeptide is obtained by integrating a polynucleotide obtained by using EST analysis from cDNA library derived from mRNA in a cell of human brain, skeletal muscle, pancreas island, retina, etc., by standard cloning and screening into an expression system and expressing the polynucleotide in a compatible host cell. |
