<p>A portable apparatus for monitoring the consumption of a respiration gas, capable of analyzing and predicting a respiratory dynamics of a user of various types of respirators such as underwater respirators, and having a high measuring accuracy, and a method of monitoring the consumption of a respiration gas, the apparatus (20) adapted to monitor the consumption of a respiration gas by a user of a respirator (1), from which a respiration gas (G) in a high-pressure gas container (2) decompressed by a pressure regulator (4) is fed to a respiration mask (10), comprising a primary pressure sensor (21) for detecting the pressure of the respiration gas before being decompressed by the pressure regulator (4), a temperature sensor (22) for correcting the detected pressure, an environmental pressure sensor (23) for detecting an ambient pressure, an amplifier (24) for signals from these sensors, an A/D converter (25) for amplified signals, a data logger (26) for recording and accumulating converted signals, a display (27) for displaying accumulated data, a computer (X) for use in calculating, analyzing and predicting data and held in a housing (28) as necessary, and a high-pressure gas hose (29) by which the primary pressure sensor (21) is allowed to communicate with a high-pressure opening (8) of the pressure regulator (4) for connection to the respirator (1).</p> |
