PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of reception equipment for receiving broadcasting from plural broadcasting providers. SOLUTION: In the reception equipment for receiving the broadcasting from a plurality of broadcasting providers, a common section among function blocks consisting of this reception equipment, independent of the broadcasting providers, is defined as CI-STB 1, which different section depending on the broadcasting providers are defined as CI-Module 2. Then, there sections are connected through an IEEE1394 interface and reception processing is performed while sharing the common section among non-common sections.
