PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compromise between an increase in strength and enhancement of toughness when applying a fiber reinforced sheet to the outer periphery of an existing reinforced concrete column. SOLUTION: A corner part in which concrete is effectively subjected to a restraint pressure (stress) from a fiber reinforced sheet 2 therearound in association with volumetric expansion of concrete, in particular, a part having a length, at each side of a rectangular cross-section, of about one-fourth of the width of the side, is a bonding part composed of the concrete and the fiber reinforced sheet 2 which are solidified and integrally incorporated together in order to ensure a sufficient strength. A part having a length, at each side of the rectangular cross-section, of about a half of the remaining of the width of the side, is inserted therein with an insulating layer for relieving stress, between the concrete and the fiber reinforced sheet 2, so as to make elongation of the fiber reinforced sheet 2 uniform in the widthwise center part where large elongation easily occurs in order to prevent the strain from exceeding a crital deformation, thereby it is possible to enhance the toughness. |
