PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device capable of minimizing generation quantity of ozone and the consumption of electric power, while increasing the mechanical strength of an electrostatic discharging electrode and improving the durability. SOLUTION: This device is, composed while equipped with a separating device 8 separating a transfer sheet material from an intermediate transfer material by removing the static charge by means of applying electric discharge to the transfer sheet material 10. In this case, a separation voltage applying to the separating device 8 is set in the range shown by the next numerical formula, Vs=(a)×log10ρ+(b)×((h)-13)+(c) (in formula, Vs stands for separation voltage (kV), (a) for modulus 0.198,ρs for surface registivity (Ω/(square)), (b) for modules 0.2 to 0.5, (h) for discharging space between discharging tip end of separating device 8 and above sheet material on surface of above intermediate transfer material (mm), and (c) for constant 4.3±1.5), and the tooth shaped discharging electrode is adopted to separating device.
