Anchoring component for pipe coupling

The anchoring component (22) is for a pipe coupling for joining two pipe ends (10, 12). The one pipe end (10) has a smooth outside and is inserted and anchored in the other end formed as a muff. The anchoring component comprises a two-part clamp ring (24, 26) clamped onto the smooth pipe end. Each ring part has a coupling part (34) with an outer conical peripheral surface (36) for location against an inner conical peripheral surface (16) formed in the muff end. The coupling part in each ring part extends outwards axially from a semicircular clamp part (24a) connecting two tension flanges (28) in the same radial plane.
