Synchromesh unit, especially for automatic intermediate gear

The synchromesh unit has at least one intermediate shaft (2) in a housing (1), which is braked (3) by a piston (4) in a brake housing (5) moving within a cylinder (6). The synchromesh unit is controlled through passages in the brake housing and through valves (9,10). The brake housing has separate inlet (7) and ventilation (8) passages, each with its respective valve, which open into the cylinder chamber (13) in front of the piston. The valves are preferably two-way valves and may be pulse controlled magnetic valves.
