PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a means capable of stably producing the RE123 oxide superconductor exhibiting excellent superconductive characteristics in the atmosphere. SOLUTION: This method for producing a RE123 oxide superconductor comprises subjecting a material containing one or more kinds of rare earth elements and a Ba-Cu-O solvent e.g. to a crystal-pulling method comprising melting, cooling and crystallizing treatments. Therein, 'the relation of a raw material-melting part composition with a balanced liquid phase composition and the crystal composition of the RE123 oxide supper conductor' is examined under the atmosphere, and the average composition of the raw materials or a solvent composition is adjusted (e.g. an average raw material composition is set in a region in which the super conductor phase and a liquid phase coexists in a balanced state, and the [Ba/Cu] ratio in the raw material melted product is adjusted to 3/5 to 1/1, etc., or the [Ba/Cu] ratio of a solvent in a crystal- pulling crucible is adjusted to 3/5 to 1/1, etc.) on the basis of the examination result. Thereby, the mutual substitution amount of RE and Ba is controlled [the value of (x) in the RE123 superconductor RE1+x Ba2-x Cu3 O7-d is controlled to 0-0.05, etc.] to crystallize the melted raw materials. |
