PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having a highly rate of electric discharge characteristic by forming the battery by means of electrolyte solvent consisting of a mixture of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate. CONSTITUTION:This is a battery which consists of nonaqueous electrolyte, negative electrode 4 mainly composed of at least one of groups consisting of light metal capable of electrically charging/discharging or alloy mainly composed of the light metal or an ionic body of the light metal and positive electrode 6 containing at least one active material in a formula I or a formula II. This nonaqueous electrolyte consists of a mixed solution of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate. In a battery case 1 obtained by processing stainless steel plate having an organic electrolyte resistant property, an opening seal plate 2 made of the same material and a current collecting body 3 made of titanium for the positive electrode are welded on the inside surface of the case 1 by means of spot welding. The negative electrode 4 is arranged on a current collecting body 5 of expanded metal where a carbon material obtained by carrying out heat treatment on petroleum cokes and a prescribed volume of a mixed agent consisting of a binding agent mainly composed of ethylene/ polypropylene copolymer are welded on the inside surface of the opening seal plate 2 by means of the spot welding, and the positive electrode 6 is formed on the current collecting body 3 for the positive electrode. |
