PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder injection type internal, combustion engine which can be surely started even in the case of restarting immediately after the engine is stopped, in the cylinder injection type internal combustion engine provided with a means holding a pressure in a fuel passage when the engine is stopped by switching low/high pressure injection. SOLUTION: In a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine provided with fuel suppliers 50 to 55, 57 capable of performing high pressure injection by an injection valve 4 after the lapse of start prescribed period by performing low pressure injection by the injection valve 4 appearing in a cylinder at starting time and a pressure holding means 56 holding a pressure of a fuel system in the vicinity of the injection valve 4 after the engine is stopped, a restart control means 70 is provided, which delays starting of fuel injection of the injection valve 4 when restarting is performed in a high fuel pressure residual period immediately after the engine is stopped. |
