SOUND VOLUME ADJUSTER OF GRAND PIANO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sound volume adjuster for grand piano which does not require labor in operating sound volume adjustment. SOLUTION: A freely openable and closable topboard 7 of a case consists of a front part 71 and rear part 72 connected by meant of hinges to each other. This grand piano is provided with a music stand assembly 12 consisting of a freely luffable music stand 121 and a music rack supporting member 122 freely movable forward and backward within the case on the front part 71 side. A sound insulating board 15 is arranged between a string frame 2 mounted inside the case and the music rack assembly 12. The outer edge thereof is fixed to the inside of the case. The sound insulating board 15 is provided with an opening/closing plate 16 for sound insulation which opens and closes the aperture formed between the board and the front end of the rear part 71 of the topboard so as to be able to freely rise and fall. The top end of the opening/ closing plate 16 for sound insulation comes into contact with the front end of the rear surface of the rear part 71 of the topboard when the plate stands upright. The opening/closing plate is adapted to be laid down to the rear 72 side of the topboard when pressed by the music rack laid down and moved backward.
